Why stripes.
Our shilajit solves three consumer's biggest problems: smell, taste and handling. It is slightly dried to minimize smell and taste and make it non-sticky. Unlike regular unruly resin in jars it is packaged in quite manageable stripes, individually sealed, similar to fruit stripes in shape and viscosity. They can be cut with a butter knife and rolled into a round shape, similar to a pill, for easy swallowing. It doesn't stick to knife and hands. It easily dissolves in water and water based liquids, if that is your preferred way to take it.

What is shilajit.
It is a product of decomposed plants and herbs that spent many centuries sealed in the rocks. Shilajit contains a balanced mix of minerals, fulvic and humic acids, amino acids, vitamins, essential oils, enzymes, peptides and lipids. Their ratios closely mimic that of a healthy human body. It is the reason for shilajit's powerful balancing and regulating action. All this adds up to a massive lift of the health baseline. Every system and organ in a human body benefits from shilajit one way or another. The list of disorders shilajit is known to ease or eliminate is long!
Almost every health disorder can be traced to a mineral deficiency. Complete health is impossible without mineral abundance. Regular mineral supplements (tablets or powders) - even if taken in adequate amounts - have to endure a tough journey before they become available for the cells and organs. Only a fraction of that amount makes it that far. They contain only a few minerals and even those - in inorganic form, which stands pretty low on bio availability scale.
Shilajit packs half of the periodic table. It's minerals are bound in organic molecules, which is the most bio available form. Fulvic acids, present in shilajit, act as a bio availability enhancing factor as well as a valuable bio resource on their own.

Where it comes from.
Our shilajit is sourced in Altai mountains of Russian Siberia. It is a product of decomposed plants and herbs. Minerals rich soil of Altai region is responsible for a high healing potency of Altai shilajit. We follow centuries old recipes of shilajit purification and preparation. It is cold processed (under 100 °F) - large organic molecules break down at higher temperatures. It is always kept moist because 7 out of 49 fulvic acids in shilajit are water dependent and don't survive dehydration. Our Russian partner in Barnaul (capital city of Altai region) supervises all phases of production - harvesting, purification, bulk packaging, shipping. When received in the US it is tested in a local lab for heavy metals and - if passed FDA guidelines - uniquely packaged in stripes for retail sales.

Why the name.
Shilajit is mentioned many times in Ayurveda and used in vedic recipes. The word Shilajit is a phonetic adaptation of its Sanskrit counterpart - शिलाजीत, which, in turn, is a combination of two words: शिला (sila) and जातु (jit). First means strength, and the second is a particle meaning at all, ever, at any time. All together, literal translation from Sanskrit - Strength Forever or Ever Present Strength. Proficient in Russian may find it hard to resist translating these Sanskrit words phonetically. Sila zhit is Russian for Strength To Live. All versions correctly embody the essence of this substance - another treasure from Altai!
